Welcome to Chow Lab of
Drug Delivery and Translational Research
At the forefront of modern drug development is the pursuit of more effective drug formulations to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes. This long-cherished goal is realized through a comprehensive understanding of diseases, drug design, and delivery systems. We are dedicated to leveraging our expertise in drug delivery, nanotechnology, and material engineering to develop innovative inhaled therapies for the treatment of respiratory and neurological diseases.

Professor Aviva Chow is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy at HKUMed. He also serves as the Project Leader and Co-Principal Investigator at the Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre (ABIC), established under InnoHK, a major Innovation and Technology initiative of the HKSAR Government. His research focuses on crystal engineering and nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems, with particular emphasis on developing oral and nasal inhalation therapies for respiratory and neurological diseases.
Before his tenure at HKU, Professor Chow held the position of Technical Lead at Jacobson Pharma Corporation Limited, a HKEX-listed company. He obtained his B.Eng. in Chemical and Bioproduct Engineering (First Class Honours, with triple minors in Mathematics, Bioengineering, and China Studies) from HKUST. He completed his PhD in Pharmacy at the CUHK. He is also a Director and Co-founder of Inhalixir Limited, a start-up company focusing on the development of innovative inhaled products for respiratory wellness.
